James dean

You mouthed oaths
more than you spoke
slammed a door
and america woke

brooding in your
self-imposed hell
at war not with others
but with yourself

you snubbed life
and all that it's worth
then snubbed out of life
when you sped off the curve

promptly repackaged
and romanticised
rebel extraordinaire
hollywood style

tragic social misfit
face of the angsty lot
larger than life
and very hot
