Sitting beside my Orchid Lady

by Orchid Man   Jul 12, 2008

Today, the rain is coming down in torrents -
- I wonder why the clouds are showing their anger at everyone?
Even the normally raging wind seems to have lost its fierceness for a change -
- as if it is knocking at the door asking to come inside and rest.

An eerie black colouring of this strange darkness is haunting everything
The afternoon hours have just began to stir from their slumber but -
- right now it appears we are caught in the darkness of an Arctic winter
Why would the street lamps suddenly stir then burst into light?

Orchid Lady please don't show any fear, as it is simply a quirk of Nature
Take my hand and sit beside me in love - I won't let anything happen to you
In a little while I feel sure the rain and darkness will travel on their journey
Leaving us to sit in the warm sunshine as the sun hurries out from its hiding place.

As I hold your hand and place my arm around you I feel your body relax against mine
Flower of my heart your touch ignites me with its softness and its inviting tenderness
To be honest I hope the rain and darkness continue with their hostile actions -
- because your closeness is giving our hearts themselves moments of togetherness and love.

I caress your hair to comfort you and the silky fibres of fireflies slowly mesh through my hand
Your greenish eyes are closed as you share in this wonderful quietness with your own Orchid
Your breathing now sounds like a quiet whisper as you lose your fear of this strange darkness
My Orchid Lady should the world end today we will leave with such happiness and love for each other.

I'm so glad I experienced that far gone day in the village market place -
- that day when you came lovingly into my life; forever taking away my lonely existence
Though now in my senior years I will never forget your smile as you offered me your hand
Sweetheart, I love you and those moments in time will never erase themselves from my thinking.

Through the dancing flames of the fireplace I look down and see the prettiness of your face
Forgive me for pulling you closer; bringing a youthfulness back into my thinking -
- my flower you will always be that young, entrancing lady who has shared her life with me
Rain and darkness do your worst, for my arms are holding the treasure of my life.
