Don't Cry For Me

by The Angel of Secrets   Jul 12, 2008

Don't cry for all that was said, the truth and the lies,
Don't weep for me because every time I smile, a part of me dies.
Don't cry for all those deadly needed words that were never told,
Don't cry for all my secrets, all that I hold.

Don't cry for all the flowers I never got,
Or because the others were beautiful, I was not.
Don't cry because I was always misunderstood,
Or because I experienced the evil of the earth, not the good.

Don't cry for me because I lived my life in a frame,
Or because when I opened up, I was filled with shame.
Don't cry for me because I'm inside a dark and lonely shell,
Or because I know heaven is not for me, I am going to hell.

Don't cry for all the things I wanted, but could never say,
Don't weep for me because I didn't want to face another day.
Don't cry for all the tears I should have, but never cried,
Or all the things I spend my life fighting so hard to hide.

Don't cry for all the songs I could never sing,
Or all the happiness to the world, I could never bring.
Don't weep because I never got the love I needed so bad,
Or for every time I shut my feelings in when I was mad.

Don't cry because I was never told I was beautiful,
Or because when I needed to be pushed, people started to pull.
Don't shed a tear because no one ever knew the real me,
Or for the fact I no longer wished to be.

That cold day, long after I die,
Come and visit me, and don't cry.
Smile as you tell me I am beautiful and put a white rose on my grave,
Don't cry because I was the only one you couldn't save.
