My only strength

by Michael D Nalley   Jul 12, 2008

Not only does love console
It enlightens the mind
Love strengthens the soul
But not because it's blind

Through the rhythm of our heart
Our pure passion and feeling
We pray for the grace to impart
Affection to lovers so willing

Our strength is that we believe
What we give we will receive
Where we are loved is where we belong
Togetherness is what makes us strong

This was a really good poem. Everything was perfect, but one thing got me: in the first two stanzas, the first and third lines rhymed, while the second and third rhymed, but in the last stanza, the first and second ones rhymed and the third and fourth one rhymed. I thought it was somewhat weird, but it's easily overlooked. That was the only thing, but maybe it's just me? Ha, don't answer that. ;)

This poem was wonderful. I loved it. The rhyming was perfect, and your word choice was good, also.
