Life Lessons

by Poet on the Piano   Jul 12, 2008

I still make a lot of mistakes,
Ones that I can't just simply erase,
I know I must learn from them all,
And keep getting up whenever I fall.

When I really get stuck in my life,
And have to decide what is morally right,
I take a moment to sit down and pray,
To shed some light upon my hard day.

Life won't go on forever and ever,
So you must live it fully and be clever,
Don't hate and despise one another,
But instead love and forgive each other.

It's good thinking for someone your age but remember this piece of advice: Don't use too many I's to show your narrating a first person poem, all you do is continueally tell the reader over and over again that the narrator is speaking form their point of view and eventually people will get tired of it, or you will have people that will say it's good even though they may not even like it. Always back up your point with a metaphor or imagery, instead of explaining in the next line why you said something in the line before it.
