The words just spilled from your mouth,
A dagger in my heart,
Just four simple words,
I m sorry, I can t.

Suddenly I m numb,
Can t feel a thing,
My worlds came crashing down,
I can hardly breathe.

Denial sets in,
This must be a joke,
I know you d never hurt me,
You promised me so.

And then come the tears,
The floodgates let open.
The pain is so raw,
Didn t know I could hurt so much.

Trying to console me,
But no words can be found,
I m a wreck on the floor,
No strength left to stand.

Thought you were the love of my life,
My soul mate and best friend,
We were supposed to grow old together,
Now all I know is betrayal.

Maybe I should have seen it coming,
I never thought this would happen though,
We started off so perfect,
