Look into my eyes ((and into my mirror))

by StandStill   Jul 14, 2008

Every insecurity reflects a thousand times
upon these brilliant, shattered surfaces.
Screaming consequential realities into innocent ears;
weeping dead rose petals like drops of jade.

Eyes blink rapidly with the motion of superstition,
unable to keep pace with the rapidly fluctuating environment;
Monotony destroying their individuality
and screaming for superficial perfection.

Every flaw magnifies itself upon the starlight,
crying out blasphemies unto itself.
All battles lost, count to ten and back,
look into my mirror.

    Every insecurity reflects a thousand times
    upon these brilliant, shattered surfaces.
    Screaming consequential realities into innocent ears;
    weeping dead rose petals like drops of jade.

    ^^^ Very good way to start off the poem. For me though the third line in this stanza was the most powerful one. It was just more strong, but everything fit together nicely.

    Eyes blink rapidly with the motion of superstition,
    unable to keep pace with the rapidly fluctuating environment;
    Monotony destroying their individuality
    and screaming for superficial perfection.

    ^^^ The first and third line in this stanza were my favorite. I loved how your wrote them. The last line was great though with the "superficial perfection". Trying to be perfect when no one in this world has ever reached perfection is a hard life to live up to. It will just never work because no one in this whole world will ever be perfect.

    Every flaw magnifies itself upon the starlight,
    crying out blasphemies unto itself.
    All battles lost, count to ten and back,
    look into my mirror.

    ^^^ The last line was a good way to end the whole poem. But remember loves your flaws make you who you are. Some times they are not the best and you may dislike them alot, but how would you be you with out them. If no one had flaws we would all be the same. A world with out flaws is a disaster waiting to happen.

    best lines, I love the idea you have that the mirror not only brings out the flaws, yet makes them unbearable.
