The Happiness on the Other Side

Broken hearts and faded smiles
Consuming their lives and all the while
The world continually turns their backs
To the happiness people in society now lack
They beat them down further into regression everyday
And each one seems to slip away
Seems to fall into a black abyss
Because they feel they're worthless
It seems as if there's nothing they can do
To finally be let through
To the other side
Where the only happiness seems to hide
