My Loss

The days are long

The nights even longer

The pain has not eased

Instead it's gotten stronger

Sometimes without warning

I am back there again

There at the hospital

Enduring so much pain

I want to crawl into a hole

And just hide away

But the pain

Will find me anyway

The pain is always here

No matter what I do

Writing all these poems

Helps express my feelings for you

"I wished it never happened"

You will never hear me say

Because that would mean

I would never have met you that day
