Welcome Home

by Orchid Man   Jul 15, 2008

What a wonderful evening it is - you are home again!
Even this house has ceased its creaking and the fire's flames are waving
Welcome home Orchid Lady; it has been so quiet and lonely without you
In reality, the normality of life simply lost its way and I couldn't sleep at all.

As I watched you and your car disappear into the crowded lane of
traffic -
- I just stood there not wanting to move my eyes from you
Then I came inside, smelt the lingering remnants of your fragrance and felt unhappy
Simply, whenever you are not here, life seems to be so ordinary.

Yesterday I sat and thought about you and wondered how you were -
- I thought about calling you on your cell phone but left you to enjoy your daughter
Sweetheart I just sat here then lay on the settee; falling asleep in front of the television
Goodness knows how I would react if we were separated for any long period of time.

When I went out for my daily walk I didn't walk along the forest path -
- neither did I stand by the wishing well and kept away from our wooden bridge
I walked to the Supermarket and stared blankly at the shelf items and thought of you
Honey, I knew I was being childish but I hate being left without you - such is love.

Another thing I have noticed; the howling winter wind has stopped its blowing
The house feels so much warmer and the flowers you bought have come back to life
No doubt tomorrow will turn out to be a bright sunny day and Nature will smile again
The animals will come out from their hiding places and the flowers and trees will greet you.

You are as pretty now as you were on that day we first gazed at each other -
- the golden colour of your hair is so wonderful and your eyes are so bright and clear
I am not interested in how many wonders of the world are seen by thousands of enquiring eyes
Orchid Lady, you are the wonder of my world and I am so glad you are home again.
