The Caged Bird Sings a Sad Song

Child once so full of hope
lost it all in parents choke
held to tight they couldn't see
just what they made baby be

baby girl so nice and quiet
never let out of her cage
lost her friends and cant deny it
part of herself she lost in vein

little girls grow up so fast
being lonely never a fad
hoping that it wouldn't last
knowing that she did no bad

young adult finding herself
remembering back in time
to when this emptiness she felt
was dealt by her parents a crime

young lady who thinks for herself
cant stand but feel she cant be helped
shes been caged up for no eyes to see
but all she desires is to just be free
