What Is Not

by Neme juste un jouet   Jul 15, 2008

Catch a tear from the sky
and watch as it drives itself through your hand
in its hunger for the earth.
That is the reality of everything,
this is what everything is.
Now the earth can taste the tear
as well as your life's blood
and jealousy seeps in
as you watch the earth receive the tear
but leave the red stain upon the ground,
an example to the world that you truly
are nothing.
Used to be I dreamed
now i choke on the idea of thought.
I am under the illusion that my past cannot control me
but I know better because every time I glimpse it
I am spellbound.
You however, are not.
It simply makes me sick
that I have wasted many thoughts
on all these people who are too dense
to realize what they have got.
It simply makes me sick with jealousy
to watch the earth receive their tears of self pity
and not receive my blood.
I work more and bleed more,
but the world cannot accept...
what is not.

Great poem and i loved the ending. At first i was thinking "what does the rain and the blood have to do with the people and jelousy" but the end was really effective at clearing it up. The only thing i is that i might clear up the first bit. It can be a tad confusing to read. It took me a couple read-overs to get it all. Abstract ideas like that require a bit more explanation and taking more time to elaborate on it and let the reader understand easily and fully what you mean makes the rest of the poem so much better. I loved the poem though. The ending is very memorable. Great job
