A Life Without a Cause

by ShadowedPhoenix   Jul 15, 2008

The metallic petals
of the blood red rose
...dying...
late at night to the sound,
of tears escaping the eyes
of the icey blue glare.
The angry grasp of intervention
on the thorn ridden stem,
the bloodless hand,
...bleeding...
For some sort of reaction
or understanding of the truth.
The puzzlement of misconception
and a life without a cause.

the tone of silence
broken by the sound of a clenching fist.
Thoughts of hesitation
Marked by a dull watery gaze.
Penetrating the photo's
of an endless parade.
The tracing along the edges
of numb fingers
...burning...
of jaded pain.

And promising to love someone until you died
meant living in regret and hate.
Closing of the eyes,
as your head lays upon the memory-filled pillow.
The unwillingness of your body
to live again
...breathing...
Gasping for air
that burdens the body
and burns your heart.
Neither awake nor asleep,
a sense of solitude
radiating from the dark.

Fear of the beating crimson
...pulsating...
without remorse.
a life alone,
ridiculed in your mind.
Restless slumber,
disatisfied aftertaste in your mouth.
The laughable thought of love,
dancing inside...
Sacrificing...
Close your teary eyes....

Beautiful work...the flow was somewhat hypnotizing, the words smooth. It almost created an elborate painting in my head...I enjoyed it, keep writing!
    Take care,
