Solitude

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Jul 15, 2008

What if I lived in solitude for the rest of my days
like a goldfish in a bowl?
I wouldn't be astonished, I can't get out of this phase.
I can't get out of this hole.

The more dirt I shovel in, the more disappears.
Nothing makes sense anymore.
It's as if all is different than it appears.
Though I know I can't ignore.

If you could spend a year inside my head
would you do it just to know what I mean?
Or would you go with what appears instead
and know only the illusions you've seen?

I've been lost in this corn field for days on end
and I feel like giving up on searching.
These twists and turns are too hard to comprehend.
These paths have made me weary, I'm lurching.

If the wheels stop spinning will you stay?
Or do you think you'd get out and walk?
I'd follow you the rest of the way
even if you decide not to talk.

My life goes on whether you're there or not.
I guess it doesn't really bother me much.
I'll turn into another you forgot.
I'll fade and disintegrate without your touch.

Wow i really like how you craft this poem going over and over in circles. living life in a repetitious cycle.

I really like this particular verse:

"If you could spend a year inside my head
would you do it just to know what I mean?

^^^ sometimes the other person might wonder why is it that people can't leave them alone or why is it that some people are obsess over them...Well maybe the just need to be in the other person's shoe

    Excellent work
    5/5

I was very impressed by this poem. I love the questions that you added.

"If you could spend a year inside my head
would you do it just to know what I mean?
Or would you go with what appears instead
and know only the illusions you've seen?"
These lines have left me speechless...

These were great lines, I think you expressed the image you wanted to send very well here.

i love this stanza! the questions will leave readers remembering and thinking. we should never judge what's only based on the outside.

i love the metaphor created in these lines. i can really feel the deep sense of despair and confusion. very unique concept with the corn field.

i really enjoyed the manner in which you incorporated the imagery of wheels with moving on with your life with or without this person. the ending was very appropriate and neatly written.

once again my dear, i'm impressed. you never cease to amaze me. brilliant as always. 5/5 love and peace.
