Wonderful Memories

by Orchid Man   Jul 16, 2008

I woke up this morning and as soon as I opened my eyes I felt like a snail -
- it was so cold I retracted my head and slid back under the covers
How warm it is lying beside you; safe, secure and with the flower of my life
You look so pretty sleeping amongst the dream you must be dancing through.

If only time would stand still for a little while and things didn't have to change
The excitement and wonder of you would remain clinging to me like a trailing vine -
- and I would experience the same thrills as the precious day you came into my life
Orchid Lady that day will live in my memory with such freshness and purpose.

As I lie beside you my thoughts journey through time to the days of my childhood -
- days when I would sit daydreaming of an unknown woman who would share my life
Little did I know one day my heart would cry out when I saw you standing there -
- little did I know our eyes would meet and a chorus of angels would bring us together.

It is so strange how that dullish day suddenly changed and the sun came out and smiled
How that blanket of dark clouds drifted away and a wonderful blue sky waved at us
Remember how I pretended to have a cold because your beauty took away my breath?
My lovely Orchid you haven't changed at all and you are as pretty today as you have ever been.

I have no right to lie here and attempt to describe you; I have no right to utter one descriptive word
Yet if you were hidden in a crowd of bustling people your beauty would attract my searching eyes
My loneliness would magically disappear and a sense of well-being would wrap itself around me
If you were awake at this moment I would look at you and enfold you in absolute wonder.

The coldness of the morning is trying to tear me away from you but it will fail -
- There is nothing that will attract me more than the joy of laying here with you
Orchid Lady I thank God for including me in the master plan in his wisdom he brought together
Sweetheart he knew we were meant for each other then he opened Heaven and sent you to me.
