Retreating into silence...

by Polaroid   Jul 17, 2008

Retreating into silence
A world thats all my own
free from all the malice
That I seem to be so prone

The pages filled with words
are all I want to see
The stories all around me
are what I want to be

The day can't be done quicker
But I'm losing track of time
I can't hear over the thunder
and I'm on my last dime

I retreat again into the land
That lies between white pages
Wishing for a world
That is better than that I have

I want to be numb
To feelings that I used to love
I want to forget
But I need some sort of threat

I'll retreat into silence
A world that will be all my own
And I'll slowly lose the self
I'd always thought I'd known
