Now They Walk Along, Their Faces Masked.

by Daphne Darling   Jun 2, 2004

Now they walk along, their faces masked, they all look the same,
Society has beaten the individuality out of them, out of them all,
They walk along, their uniforms untarnished, their masks in place,
They have no care for the souls, the souls that have no masks,
The souls that have no uniforms, the souls who live free and alive,

But that is the wish of society, and they will not turn against society,
They have no will of their own any more, they left it with individuality,
So they walk along the streets, their mask firmly in place, not stumbling,
While the rest stumble past them, walking their own paths away from the rest,
Untainted souls, walk by on their paths, soon to be beaten by society,

Controlled by what they see on T.V and in the newspapers, and such,
Following what the media, and the governmental people say they should do,
Following the incompetence of their own feeble minds through the dim streets,
Interested only in the image that they get from the people that are around them,
Controlled by the greed of the companies from witch they buy what they wear,

The poor sorry souls that have to follow another so that they may live,
The poor people who follow another so that they may have the illusion of independence,
The people that have to wander this earth in a daze that seems like true happiness,
Sing now minions of society have your cars that all look the same,
Have your brand name cloths, mass built houses, they are worthless to me.
