Prom Night

by xXHunnyGurlXx   Jul 17, 2008

The prom was getting nearer,
And I had nothing to wear,
I searched through my cupboards,
But most of them were bare.

My mother took me shopping,
By nothing seemed to fit,
But then I saw it in the window,
I knew that that was it.

I tried it on,
It was the perfect size,
Id finally found The One,
After so many tries.

I took it home,
And showed my friends,
They loved as much as I,
It was all in the latest trends.

Finally the day was here,
I was the proudest girl in town,
As I waltzed onto the pavement,
In my sparkling prom-night gown.

My friends were glad to see me,
They were proud of my dress to,
With my tons and tons of jewelry,
And my black high-heeled shoes.

When we got to the gate,
Our guys were waiting there,
Standing by the doorway,
In their suits and jelled back hair.

They walked us in without a word,
But the silence broke apart,
I held his hand so tightly,
I could feel the pulse from his heart.

I was as nervous as a dog,
But I kept on walking,
Trying to ignore it,
Then my friend started talking.

She asked me if I was alright,
I said that I was fine,
But I knew that something wasn't right,
Something else was on my mind.

My body wasn't reacting,
The way it should have been,
My head was pounding,
And I felt weak in the knees.

Then all of a sudden,
I felt my body fall,
I hit the ground with a sickening thud,
All went silent in the hall,

I could still hear some voices,
People whispering silently,
Then I could hear my friends,
Shouting violently.

Then I could hear sirens,
I don't how long I was there,
It seemed like I was in slow motion,
My only feeling was despair.

They put me in the ambulance,
All around me was a blur,
I could hear silent beeping,
And my stomach was starting to stir.

I blacked out later in the car,
I don't know how long for,
But I woke up in the hospital,
My head was really sore,

My head was bandaged tightly,
And arms were really weak,
The nurse walked and smiled,
But she didn't speak.

I laid there for moment,
Then sat up in my bed,
The nurse fixed my pillow,
And asked about my head.

I told her it was hurting,
And she said Id be alright,
There was no damage,
And I could go home tonight.
