Mistrust

by Sweetdream   Jul 19, 2008

Already brittle like bare flesh beneath a blade,
My trust in you is starting to fade.

Faithfully blinded by my own hearts desire,
Trusting you is turning me into a liar.

Ignoring the obvious signs you give,
Feigning ignorance as if oblivious.

Covering heartbreak with a vague smile,
Drowning myself in a river of denial.

I've decoded the pattern in your web of lies,
Based on clues you though you could hide.

The purest evil lies dormant under your skin,
And burning souls smolder in your grin.

Wounds you've stab into others drip your blood,
Each injured heart draining you of your ability to love.

You'll find no peace among all the lovers you seek,
Until before god you utter the confession you can not speak.

Admit before god where the roots of your mistrust begin,
Tangled in the web of lies you yourself spin.

Promoting this hypocrisy of the most hurtful kind,
Not trusting me because you don't trust what you have inside.

Continue to doubt my dedication and belittle my self-respect,
With the assumptions you lay on me with such contempt.

I've never given you a reason to doubt my intent,
My dedication has been nothing less than intense.

So for the longest time an explanation for your doubt was unknown,
Until the night I saw a bit mark on your neck that was not my own.
