Striving to Nothing

by The Lonely Rose   Jul 19, 2008

There will always be a momment where I will lie and wish,
I'll lie under the stars and think,
Think of life and what surprises might peep up on me,
Each day.
I'll lie under the stars and dream,
Of a day of no pressure to be perfect
Just to be myself,
And grow into a person that I pictured to be myself.
Perhaps live a life that I will always dream under these stars.

Maybe there will one day that I will think no more of life,
I will live life to the fullest as I have always dreamed of.
Maybe there will be one day where the pressure of being perfect under the many eyes will dissapear.
Then be the person I pictured deep within myself.

That one day may not never happen,
I will always strive to be perfect,
To always hide my problems to help others.
To push myself to the brink.
The person I strive to be will die
And be the person that every wishes to be

Poem is good but some lines are not that well measured. You can make it more compact one.

Nice poem. The line "Myself inside will die pretty soon..." sounds kinda awquard but other than that the rythm and flow is pretty good. I personaly find words like 'strive' or 'pretty' or other words with sharp consonants make thoughtful poems like this one a tad choppy. I'm not saying that any of these are huge problems, im splitting hairs here lol. I love the poem. Great job!
