Little girls

by Amy   Jul 19, 2008

Peacefully sleeping, there she lay

She's growing up too fast, she's gonna be a big girl one day

I hope I teach her everything she needs to know

I hope what she's learning helps her grow

I love her little hands and her precious little smile

My heart cries knowing she's only little, only for awhile

What I love the most is the expression on her face as she sleeps... you know, the one where it looks as if she's having good dreams

She's a perfect little child in every way

She's learning something new each and everyday

One day, you'll look up and wonder how time has passed...

Your little girl isn't a little girl anymore

She's a woman at last!

Such a lovely poem. It was a little gem about a little gem!!

It is also a little reminder to us all how short life is, specifically, how short childhood is. Being a child should be the best time of anyones life. It should be full of smiles, laughter and most of all unconditional love. If a child is lucky enough to receive this from parents or guardians who are aware that they are shaping a future adult, then that child has the best gift they will ever have.

My son is 7 now and I sincerley hope he grows up believing that his childhood was a happy one.
