Save Me From Me

by AmberSherrellxxIve Been Sitting Here Trying To Find Myselfxx   Jul 19, 2008

Look into my eyes and tell me what you see
There's a happy smiling girl but, that's not really me
Deep inside I'm shattered, scream in disarray
Down upon my knees, to take the pain I pray

My profound brown eyes hide my broken heart
I get rid of my tears before they even start
My laughter sounds genuine, I've perfected the act
Lost in my performance, to reality I can't get back

I'm stuck inside this prison I've constructed in my mind
I've locked myself away and forced to do the time
Count down to break down, each passing day
Falling straight apart but, acting oh so okay

All my rainbow colors have faded into gray
I'm lost within myself but, I don't want to stay
I stare through my eyes, longing to be free
Help me escape, can you save me from me?

Wow. I liked how in the beginning u were talking about that isn't really u that it was just an act. I mean the whole poem is like that but I think that the 1st 2 stanza's r really good. 5/5

I feel like this way too often. I truly understanding the line about perfecting the art of laughter. Also, your line about rainbows was perfect. It was original and really struck the imagination and provided such beautiful imagery for the mind. I enjoyed this!
