The Answer Question, Our Secret

by ImperfectBliss   Jul 20, 2008

Hidden in time

Deep beneath the moon

Cloaked in a midnight black cloak

Of sweet gossamer tears

Lies the secret we all search for

In this short, long lonely life

A whisper of a dream

Enwrapped in the silk mysteries

Of our deepest of hearts

A single question, with a single answer

Tantalizing, teasing us

With it's cruel smile and

It's beautiful, wind-chime laugh

And it's surface of shimmering water

Lit by the sun-soaked flames of our souls

And it's iridescent eyes

All-seeing, seeing nothing

Knowing only the complete truth

And not bothering to hide anything

So honest, so clear

Like a sparkling mirror shattering

Upon the hard wood floor

The thing I've been searching for

The thing we've all been searching for

Deep within our hearts,

Darkened by the star-filled nights of our desires

An answer, a question

Beckoning us with its gentle, graceful fingers

Smiling at us with its eyes

And its hair of wind shimmering with the heavens

It opens its blood-red lips

And giggles, sounding like a million tiny bells

Tinckling in the breeze

It kisses your, my, our mouth

And whispers a sweet, bitter secret

Its warm breath caressing our soft cheeks...
