Numb

I cant take this nothingness
I'm only here in body
my mind slipping away
into darkness
i cant take this numbness
i need to feel something
ANYTHING!
so i go for the knife
slicing it hard and deep
into my skin
the feeling of burning pain
feeding my anticipation
the blood trickles
down my arm
satisfied and content
the numbness has dissolved
leaving me with peace
for now at least
