Envy Her

by Annie   Jul 22, 2008

Enters loudly, and obnoxiously
a young woman with a bubbly personality
her laugh is heard throughout
I envy her light and airy mood

She's the joy and center
just because she's there
her straight red hair
resting neatly on her shoulders

Talk of her bouncy perfect life
fills the ears off everyone
she tries to get away
but people just ask more

She can't take much more
her outer confidence was shattering
like glass that's been rapidly heated then cooled
but she mended herself with a fake smile

She got away, finally
I watched her crash
a plane into the mountains
no survivors, nothing left

I don't envy her anymore
she is my reflection
the same shattering mirror
my unknown red-headed twin

I wish I would've met her
because maybe then she could see
that I'm just like her
I don't envy her
