The Power of a frown (Please read)

by Caroline   Jul 22, 2008

You've been hurt,
You're feeling down
Its not that easy,
You can't just turn that frown around

You've been kicked
You've been hit
A frown glued to your face
A smile can't just be lit

Thinking of old times,
Ignoring the present
When times were good,
Now nothings pleasent

A rope in hand,
You wonder what others will think
They don't care they'll just drown it all away
With another strong drink

Thinking of them,
Are they all to blame
You loved them,
What a shame

Keep looking down,
Now your writing the note
You continue to wonder
As you tie the rope around your throat

Still feeling the brusies they left on you,
A gleam in your eye
You'll never be hit again,
Now waving your final goodbye

Now you hang their,
not making a sound
Another life lost
Because you Can't just turn a frown around

Very open poem, I've always personally hated it when people would tell me smile when I was upset/depressed whatever, it just adds insult to injury, so I started to tell those people if you were standing on your head I would be smiling (change in perspective)
