The Darkness

I pulled myself up
out of the darkness
that surrounded me.

Its been so long
since ive seen light.

The darkness controlled me for so long
I cant remember what its like to
have friends who love me,
what its like not to spend my days alone
wondering if anyone really cared.

My life is finally starting to come together
and ive learned
I cant spend my life
letting the darkness control
every move I make
every word I say
every thought I think.

The darkness is no longer in control
and never will be again.
