The fight's not worth the pain

There were grooves all down her cheeks where the tears had left their scars.
There was music in her eyes, playing loud for all to hear.
Her smile had left home from where emptiness now lives.
Her ears were closed for business, too sick of all the lies.

An inconstant beat coming from her heart.
Playing the wrong notes, confused and out of tune.
Her voice had forgotten the words to say, it's prompt no longer there.
Her lungs were full of weights, don't try to breathe no more.

Her wrists cried for attention, so silently asking for help.
Her thoughts said no reason, it was time for her to go.
She offered me her heart and cried; "let me go"
Don't try to breathe no more,
The fight's not worth the pain.
