Your Place In My Heart, No One Will Ever Fill...

by Irene   Jul 23, 2008

DEDICATED TO MY GRANDFATHER, GEORGE A. MAVROUDIS

Everything is so beautiful in this field,
this place where i yield.
I run my fingers through the petals of flowers,
I'm away from the city and its powers.
On the soft, leafy grass I lay,
thinking of everything that happened til' this day.
I see your grinning face in my head,
all the sudden remembering that you are dead.
The sky goes from nice and happy to angry and sad.
My vision gets blurry as tears fill my eyes,
and suddenly all my happiness dies.
Thoughts of you alive again overwhelms me,
on how much I miss and love thee.
You were my friend, my grandpa,
in your eyes, love and sadness was all i saw.
The day you passed on was the day I knew,
there was nothing I could say or do.
To keep you alive forever,
me forgetting you? never.
I definitely feel guilt and sorrow,
happiness, I can not follow.
I never got to say 'I love you' or 'good-bye',
you were a great friend, i will not lie.
i love you and always will,
your place in my heart, no on else can ever fill.
