All I Ever Wanted

by Alicia   Jun 3, 2004

Demand or request?
Its a question i detest
You'll be the one left to decide
To you the ones who attempt to impress i must confide
Emotions have collided and the knots come untied
We agonize to be the best
only to be left depressed.
Shot down, turned away, hidden far behind
why must we be so blind?
We thrash out, we scream,
we say things we don't mean
Death, pain, truth, lies,
are you just here for some glorious prize?
Work together; together as one, and imagine
the achievements you can get done
Think of the dilemmas you can overcome
Short, tall, big, small, black or white,
not one should despise a heart contrite.
Give a little, don't be greedy
in the end we all are needy
You closed the door, shut off the light,
and yet there's hope still in sight
Ive come so far and worked so hard
and though my wishes you disregard
My head will remain high till i succeed
I'll continue to pursue this precious deed
This magnificent idea i do elect
and to think...
All i ever wanted was a little respect

  • Nice work. I agree with David up there, your rhymes are great. I've told someone else this, but it applies to yours too, you have a rap vibe going on in that one. Keep up the good work.
