A thousand roses.

by Helene   Jul 24, 2008

I grew a thousand roses,
but they all withered one by one,
And when the last one's leaf falls down,
I know my time is done.

Seems the Sun never rose in the East today,
and the Moon is shining red.
And every reason I had, for if I should stay;
My hopes, my dreams, are dead.
And as every star burned out last night,
as burned my tears on aching skin,
Questioning my wrongs and rights,
Questioning my every sin.
I opened up Pandora's box,
and found my darkest secrets there,
Unleashed the Demons of my past,
To find they were already here.
So if this indeed is my last night,
My final breath, this very last,
When last leaf falls on roses red,
Am I forgiven for my past?
I've cast the curses,
Cried the tears,
Felt the hatred through my veins,
Felt the passion,
Felt the fears,
Felt neglected, mocked the slain.
And I wish I told someone I loved,
That they should have stayed to see the sun,
For whom I grew a thousand roses,
But they all withered one by one.

Very good work though i think the second verse is meant to be my dreams instead of me dreams. I like your work , i'd like to see more. You have my vote.....3/5.
