The Day She Walked Away

by TorturedTourniquet   Jul 24, 2008

The marks they leave still shock me
Though obvious, they're hardly seen
They're covered up so you can't find them
Red, yellow, blue and green

Your beautiful eyes betray pain far
Beyond what anyone can know
It's hidden with a smile and a laugh
And you never let it show

Don't hide
I know the truth
What they've done to you

And they'll never see it coming
The day you walk away
They'll never see it coming
With all the games they play
They'll never see it coming
I swear this much is true
I'll find you a way out of there
If it's all that I can do

It's okay to not be strong for once
When you're facing such a foe
And though you seem so happy
They cause such heightened woe

Fresh marks appear yet again
And yet you will not cry
A simple cover up will hide it
And your eyes still remain dry

And they'll never see it coming
The day you walk away
They'll never see it coming
With all the games they play
They'll never see it coming
I swear this much is true
I'll find you a way out of there
If it's all that I can do

Don't hide
What they've done to you again
Again

And they'll never see it coming
The day you walk away
They'll never see it coming
With all the games they play
They'll never see it coming
I swear this much is true
I'll find you a way out of there
If it's all that I can do

And they'll never see it coming
The day you walk away
They'll never see it coming
With all the games they play
They'll never see it coming
I swear this much is true
I'll find you a way out of there
If it's all that I can do

Never see it coming
Never see it coming
Never see it coming
Never see it coming
