Read Between The Lines ((of life))

by StandStill   Jul 26, 2008

Tears spatter against window panes
as the clouds cry out against injustice.
Slashing across trees and hills
the rain screams revenge.

(You weren't there)

Every moment bleeds out,
with patience we race this time-bomb clock.
All the words pool together, like the rain,
so slippery...flowing..flowing...flowing...

(You couldn't understand)

We sit still and hold our breath,
so afraid to poison our lungs with these realities.
Upon us, blood is sloshed,
praying to the unknown...forsaken.

(Why bother)

Branding into our skin these fatalities;
they burn away our inequities, making us feel invincible.'
We prepare to fall as the thunder crashes.
Amazing how loud we can scream.

(I'm dying)
