Balloons, ribbons, and hell

by StandStill   Jul 26, 2008

Big bright red balloons
tethered to the grass,
twirling 'round in their safe world...
no future, no present, no past.

The pink ribbons fall off of our eyes,
and now we can see too well.
Spinning, floating away...
the balloons take off for hell.

No birds, no sunshine, no life...
just silence in this prison black.
Funny how going in reverse
doesn't mean you get to go back.
