October 1st, I remember that day.
I felt it in my heart, you went away.
No one told me, I just knew.
You spread your wings, and away you flew.
To this day, I can't understand why.
Every day it still hurts, and I sometimes cry.
You were the grandfather that I never had.
So I know it's okay to feel a little sad.
But why do I grieve for a soul set free?
Especially knowing how much you love me.
