I Felt...

by LiveMyLifeOnALullaby   Jul 27, 2008

Shy
When I sensed my heart fluttering

Brave
When I mentioned how you made me feel

Shocked
When you said "I guess that makes the two of us"

Amazed
When I gazed into your brown eyes and saw the truth

Special
When I felt as if we were alone and didn't care about anyone staring

Loved
When you whispered three assured words into my ear

Safe
When I was in yours arms, where I knew I was protected

Vulnerable
When your tender lips first touched mine and left a burning sensation

Confused
When I knew nothing was right for I hadn't felt your embrace as often

Furious
When you asked for a "break" as if we could've put our lives on pause

Miserable
When I screamed "We're through," and stormed out of what I thought was real

Depressed
When I ignored all your phone calls and e-mails, wishing that life hadn't gone this way

Relieved
When I tossed out our photos and didn't shed a tear

Strong
When I saw you on the street and neglected you as if you were no one, because to me, you were and still are

    Wow. I've written a poem in a very similar format to this.. But the way you used the format to tell a story was excellent. I especially loved the beginning because it reminded me of me and my guy;

    'Amazed
When I gazed into your brown eyes and saw the truth'

    And

    'Vulnerable
When your tender lips first touched mine and left a burning sensation'

Were my two favourite lines. It's great how you put so much emotion, Love and warmth into the first part of the poem, and then chane it to such hate and misery towards the end.

    Loved it, 5/5
