Already Dead

by Tiffany Fisher   Jul 28, 2008

You feel a veil of dread wash over your body
As the blood spills onto the floor
The darkness quickly enshrouds you
And you can't take it anymore

The brittle leaves of life are falling
Sailing quickly down the stream
Far detached and left alone
Hoping and praying this is all a dream

A vulture cries its piercing hunger
And seizes it's one chance
For as you walk you seem most dead
Yes, you have danced my last dance

The rivulets of crimson water
Bleed on past your feet
As you walk down the empty road
And here your fate you'll meet

The mask that you've been behind
Has finally been undone
But now along this deep dark road
Your journey's just begun

There are no friends in this dark place
No place to feel at ease
No laughs or love, no happiness
No sunny days, no light breeze

The rain will fall constantly
Underneath His fiery gaze
Wondering where all your life has gone
You've just been running through this maze

So you must walk this lonely road
With that phantom by your side
Until you pick up that blade
And no longer wished you already died
