A friend shares my bed

by Grant Gilbert AKA Slash   Jul 28, 2008

A friend shares my bed

A chill wind blows
It plays its mournful dusty tune
Upon the strings of my flimsy cotton home
As I lie here in my ragged army sleeping bag
In the middle of a ball of brick red dust
Thinking about life on mars
Beside me with her head upon my chest
And eyes that gaze in loving adoration
What a lovely feeling with her warm and tender body
Lying next to mine
Every so often a gentle nibble on my ear
Warm tongue flicking at the lobes
As I lie and quietly chat
My left hand slowly stroking her golden yellow hair
We lay there and watch a leopard gecko
Stealthily stalk its prey, a juicy chirping cricket
Upon this flapping roof of mine
Lying here in the African veldt with this eager companion
Feeling her warm breath on my cheek
I hug her tighter to my body and slap a kiss upon her head
She really is the nicest dog to ever share my bed
