A new Fashion

We know how kids like fashion ,
how keeping up is hard to do.
My own kids pester me for the 'in things' ,
and it does not come cheap that's true.

But lately when I turn on the news ,
there's a new kind of fashion growing.
I only pray my own kids won't follow this one ,
for because of this new fashion an increase in crime is showing.

This fashion is not toys ,mobiles or clothes ,
it's a weapon that can hurt and kill.
Stabbings are reported on the news and in the paper ,
and from this fashoin kids seem to get a thrill.

Each time I hear of another knife crime ,
all I can think about is my own boys.
I hope they will never get hurt in this way ,
and they realise themselves that knifes are not toys.
