When Clear Skies Are Blurred

by Rachel   Jul 28, 2008

Silence, bitter, but free
It's just leaping off of me

Whispers, shouts, and songs unheard
My mouth opens but can't speak a word

A blank expression crawls on my face
As speech becomes too hard to trace

I'm in awe at the sight of this crime
And it seems I've lost track of time

I bolted fast as lightning
As I made a sound, so frightening

A scream that shifted winds so sweet
Bouncing off walls in a harsh repeat

A I looked down to see
That you had stolen from me

My chest: an open hole
Seems like taking my heart was your only goal

So I'm left here to think of our past
I should have known we'd never last

Now clear skies are blurred with my tears
The colors of the rainbow are now nothing but smears

Tomorrow I'll forget about this horrible dream
And my mind will no longer echo this deathly scream

OH this poem is so good , I was captivated by every line. Not just the perfect flow and the captivating expressions, but the graduation of the story. Every line had relevence to the next . The harmony of each line gave balance of beauty to an otherwise painful poem. I sent this one to poem of the week and added you to my favorite authors list ....Jim...5/5
