Innocence

by Heart of Green   Jul 29, 2008

When I was born, I loved.
So broken and frayed,
Warm sunshine and rain.

Wont you stay awhile?
I could hold your smile.

Once was little, grew today.
Shimmer, sparkle, fade then grey..
Wont you stay?

I felt like this was an "ode" to innocence. A wanting and longing for things past. I loved it because I know what it's like for wanting inocence to stick around for a while. Great poem! 5/5
