I Can Touch Them (They Won't Know) Part 5

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Jul 29, 2008

Oh yes, I saw it with my eyes
Like I told the police
The kid was laying on the snow
And watching cars on the street

He looked so damn happy
Why did it end like this?
He wanted to touch the red car there
And the driver didn't miss

I saw it with my two eyes
He walked into the street
He looked at me and said something
Then was knocked off his feet

He died right there. I pointed
He died cold to the bone
But before he died he told me
That he could have touched the stars...

And the world would not have known

I actually don't like this as an ending. Like, it's creative perspective and what not....but i don't like th sudden switch. it kind of drags away from the atmosphere that you created. it's like whiplash, poetically. like, it's not bad, i like it as a poem. but...the last one could have ended it perfectly...

but i love the last line. seems ironic.
