Unworthy, Untouched.

by Unrequited   Jul 29, 2008

Secret eyes
a burning pool inside liquid gaze-
I am mortal,
aiming to crumble
if this heart remains
untouched.

a daring cut in the sky,
ripped by lightning,
piercing one dying soul
from the other.

an astounding crash is brought down onto the earth.
and we crumble.

sands blown by time
I am unworthy
and thrown aside by shallow grace,
for we all are weak

unable to carry this weight
of unrequited love
left inside those that belong
within each other.

bleeding eyes break their hold
and give themselves to the grave.
for we are mortals,
unworthy grains strewn across
this land.

the storm silences our cries
as one dying soul
is separated
from the other,
unworthy,
untouched.
