When it stops...It bleeds

by Lady Nik   Jul 30, 2008

Once I dreamed
That I couldn't breathe
I heard my mother scream
"Where is Shanik?"
I waved my hands
But she didn't hear me
I hugged her
But she didn't feel me.
Take me back
I begged my grave.
Why is the sky black?
I begged it to change.
But I then stopped
As it began to rain.
I was free
And I felt no pain.
Was this the end
To my grief
I found peace
What a relief,
No more blood
Laced with screaming.
No more dreams
Attacked by demons.
But I was dead
And it's hard to believe.
When it stops
It bleeds.

The short lines made it easier to read slowly. this poem was a very excellent read. each line finished the last and started a new. fit well together.

this would qualify for my "Brilliantly Depressing" category. if i could understand the intense emotions coming from this, ... anyway, thx for your comment.
