Ever Loving Lie

by Lady Nik   Jul 30, 2008

I remember once
When I would melt to your touch.
Now that you're gone
It doesn't hurt that much.
You took my heart
And plagued my dreams.
But you could never
Just once love me.
Like breathing to the dead
I was your nothing.
But that's just fine.
I'm better now
I see that I don't need you
To live my life.
So hang on to someone else's thread
What we had was always dead.
I'm not crying over you
Because you are out of my head.
Black and blue
Were the colors of my soul
Now that it's over
It's purple and strong.
I won't be waiting
By my phone.
I won't be sad
Because I've already moved on.
I'm not your mistake
And you aren't mine.
But PLEASE don't make me
Your ever loving lie next time.

Clever title. I liked how it worked into the last few lines. Well, not much to say accept that relationship must have sucked haha. Sorry. The poem is very clear on your thoughts though. That's always key when writing about personal experiences.
