Coffee, Tea, and Memory

by StandStill   Jul 30, 2008

Riddle your mind with pieces of hope;
smoke yourself out with lies.
Get higher, baby; not high enough...
crash down and taste the tears you cry.

Let's drip a little bitterness,
mix it in with our coffee and our tea.
Shadow things are singing songs
while they're riding ships on the bloody sea.

Bleed out a little faster, babe;
I want to see how good you look.
You never knew how to read
but you learned it all from your little book.

Maybe if we poison our minds well enough,
we can sing "Ashes" and we'll fall down fast.
Maybe if we get it over now,
we can screw the future and live in the past.
