Whiskey sodden memories underlined,
Create illusions of heightened elation,
Bleary visions of a past generation,
Roman Centurions, Latin Gladiators,
Confederate troops, Old Aviators,
Mongol hordes, Cossack riders, Pathian Guards and Leonardo's gliders,
Little green men by the ten,
Purple cows in the glen,
D.T's and shaking knees.

Memories are made of these,

Splitting heads, puked on beds,
Scruffy cloths, running nose,
Ringing clock, in the dock,
Judge and jury, no more fury,
Angry hours, whiskey sours,
Stomach churns, coffee urns,
Signing off, racking cough,
