So What if I Love You?

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Jul 31, 2008

So what if I love you?
So what if I care?
You know it's true.
I know you're aware.

You may not have me,
but much of my heart.
It's clear to see
what's keeping us apart.

So what if I left him?
What would we do?
You'd go off to a war so dim
and I'd never see you.

You'd have my heart, not my hand,
and I guess that's okay.
I'd stare at the wedding band
and wish to see you each day.

Where would I stay?
I haven't a clue.
I can't stand being away,
but I would just for you.

Distance is hard,
but knowing you could be dead...
I would be scarred
if you returned-bullet in head.

So what if we did this?
So what if it's right?
You'd be who I miss
holding me tight.

Another wonderful write. I swear every poem you write can be related by many writers. You write so many good sad love poems, it amazes me. This one was another poem that was filled with emotions.. that were so clear. I could tell exactly how you were feeling in this piece. Keep it up. That's all I gotta tell ya :) 5/5
