Looking Into Your Eyes

by Dying Beautifully   Aug 1, 2008

Your standing in front of me,
Face in my direction.
Your talking ever so gently,
As though for my protection.

I'm looking at your face,
Oh how it's gotten old.
Between us theres still space,
We were rotting like mold.

I look into your eyes,
And see the pain I caused.
In your voice there are many sighs,
Our hearts and minds are on pause.

Your looking at me now,
Your only daughter.
Your now wondering how,
I am so much like her.

Do you like how I've grown?
Do you like who I am?
Signs in your eyes have shown,
That you can not condemn.

They've done well by me,
Raised me like they should.
And now in your eyes I see,
That you now wish you could.
