Writers Block {Collab poem with DJ}

by InvisiblyHeartless   Aug 1, 2008

*I wrote this with DJ to help my writers block, Him first, me second*

Thoughts lay in my head,
I cant write down a single one.
Not remembering what I said,
Just to realize this aint fun.

Getting the urge to write,
But nothing is coming to mind.
Stay up thinking all night,
It's like the poetic mind went blind.

Feels like it can be good,
But words are caught,
I'd write if only I could.
The only word i got, i bought.

So thats my mind, I spoke.
Let me give lexie the mike.
She needs to have her block broke.
So here lexie, make the fans like.
------------------------------------

So clearly the words I want,
To come and let me out.
They dance and dazzle, as to haunt,
Missing the words, I'm in a drought.

Hungrily, I stare and pray,
Something I need to hear now,
Teasing me unfairly, they play.
My writers block hasn't left thou.

Time to defeat this mighty block,
Prevailing in my hard battle,
Processing the winner's shock,
I won't let anyone tell or tattle.

A pencil put to the paper,
I feel the best now than ever.
I become a word shaper.
And all I did was pull the lever.

This was a wonderful collab. I like how you both wrote about writer's block in hopes to break your writer's block and I think you did a amazing job. Things to remember: captiolize i's and remember to put apostrophes in words that need them. I noticed quite a few that didn't have them. I love how DJ's last stanza was like he was rapping and handing the microphone over to you to rap.. that was cool. I know who DJ is lol, and I know he loves rapping. The first three stanzas were GREAT! I loved it. It definatly described what goes on when someone has writer's block. Perfect start.

Overall, awesome write. This poem had a rhyme scheme and it flowed wonderfully. I loved the idea of writing about writer's block. Both of you did a beautiful job! 5/5
